We will fight
Today, June 3rd, 2012, the Federal Committee of Labour Party Pakistan has approved the following proposals as the plan of action to secure the release of the Hunza Five and challenge the state terrorism inflicted on political activists by the Establishment and the PPP government:
- June 20th – June 27th: International Week of Action for Baba Jan and all political prisoners in Pakistan
Like-minded parties and groups in twenty countries around the world will organise solidarity actions in front of Pakistani diplomatic missions, condemning the Establishment for its suppression of political activists and trade unionists and demanding the immediate release of all political prisoners in Pakistan.
- June 27th – July 4th: National Week of Action, leading up to:
- July 4th: Massive rally in Islamabad with participation from all across the country and from all walks of life
- July 18th: National Consultative Conference on the situation in Gilgit-Baltistan and on the systematic abuse of the Anti-Terrorism Act
The plan of action will be presented by the LPP General Secretary, Comrade Younas Rahu, to media outlets in a press conference at 3 PM on Monday, June 4th, 2012, at the Lahore Press Club.
The party is also looking into the possibility of mounting a legal challenge against sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act that conflict with the basic human rights provisions of the Constitution of Pakistan.
